Obituary for Robert E Ahern
Ahern, Robert E.,89-of East Moriches on July 16, 2018. Devoted son of the late William J. Ahern and Helen R. Ahern of Bethpage, NY. Beloved brother of Mary K. Looney, William J. Ahern Jr.,Jeremiah Ahern, Anne Fulton, Helene Stahl, and the late Thomas Ahern. Bob is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, as well as 31 great nieces and nephews, and 13 great-great nieces and nephews. He passed away having been in the care of his family and Independent Group Home Living. Bob was a very visible member of the Bethpage Community for many years. He would ride his bike all over LI, running errands and visiting friends and family. This included riding to Port Jefferson to visit the sisters at Maryhaven School, which he attended in the 1930's. In lieu of flowers, donations to IGHL Foundation at 221 N. Sunrise Service Rd, Manorville, NY 11949 are appreciated.
