Ahern, William J., Jr., 95 - of Setauket, NY, on February 26, 2022. Devoted son of the late William J. Ahern, Sr., and Helen R. Ahern of Bethpage, NY. Beloved husband of the late Arline Iser Ahern. Dear brother of Mary K. Looney, Jeremiah Ahern, Anne Fulton and the late Robert Ahern, Thomas Ahern and Helene Stahl. Bill is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joan Knight Ahern, his brother-in-law, Rudy Stahl, eighteen nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Bill was a veteran of the US Army (1944-1946) and the US Air Force (1946-1955). He served in both WWII and the Korean War, being honorably discharged with the rank of First Lieutenant. Bill retired as Executive Vice President of Edward Ehrbar, Inc. (Pelham Manor, NY) in 1991 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Albany in 1997. Passionate about flying his vintage WWII airplane, a Ryan PT-22, Bill spent the majority of his retirement living in Spruce Creek, FL, a “fly-in” community, with the love of his life, Arline.
