Obituary for Socrates T Thanasas
Socrates T. Thanasas (76), of Cherry HIll, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
Socrates was born to the late Theodoros and Chrysoula Thanasas on April 26,1947 in Riolos, Greece. The eldest of their five sons, Socrates later moved to New York where he graduated from Polytechnic Institute of New York University and started his career at Farmingdale State College where he would retire in 2015 as the Assistant Dean, Chair, and Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Technology.
Socrates is survived by his two sons, Theodore and Aristotle, his daughters-in-law, Jaclyn and Nicole, his five grandchildren, Lilyana, Nicholas, Marco, Damon and Serafina, and his four brothers Thanasis, Dimitris, Panayotis and Elias.
Please join the family for a celebration of his life on Saturday, August 19th between the hours of 3pm and 6pm at McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home located at 385 Main Street, Farmingdale, New York.
