Obituary for Ronald D Harmon Sr.

Harmon SR , Ronald D., 85 passed peacefully on May 24, 2021. Reunited with his wife and soulmate of 64 years, Alice B. Harmon who passed just 3 months prior. Two kind and caring souls that were meant to be together. It is the end of a beautiful story. They have left their family with a legacy of love for one another and an example of kindness and respect. Two birds in a nest we called them because they were always together, caring for one another through life’s trials and tribulations. They were deeply loved by their children, Beth Woods, Lori Halperin & Mike Timko, Ron & Jen Harmon. Cherished Grandfather to Meghan & Nelson Machado, Joseph & Juli Woods, Rachel Halperin & Dan Subers, Julia Harmon, Luke Harmon. Thrilled Great grandfather of Bernard Woods. Ron spent his career with Liberty Mutual and in his early retirement enjoyed playing morning rounds at Bethpage and being a snow bird with Alice in Jupiter, FL. He was a Makers Mark Ambassador, a boater and a fisherman who never told a tale, a pool player and a card shark . He loved his Cadillac’s , morning coffee/paper and a fresh mowed lawn. Great with numbers and quick with a joke, Ron was a devout Steelers fan, member of the Fraternal Order of Masons, a craftsman and a woodworker who loved to tinker and create unique and interesting gifts for friends and family. He could build or fix almost anything and was solution focused. But mostly, Ron crafted a life around the love he had for his wife , children, grandchildren and friends.

If you wish to honor Ron , you may consider donating to JDRF to support a cure for diabetes, play some golf or enjoy a nice pour of bourbon but make sure you get what’s done on your wife’s “’honey do” list.
