Marian Catherine Selda (1933-2016)
Marian, born in Brooklyn, NY on February 6, 1933 to Anna (Horstman) and Francis X Kurtzke, passed away on July 26, 2016 at 83 years old. Marian and her husband John P Selda Sr. founded and successfully operated Marian's Ceramics Studio & Distribution business in Massapequa, NY for over 35 years, helping and teaching so many the craft of ceramics. Marian celebrated her marriage (Feb 12, 1968) to her loving husband & "Her Everything", John for 48 years. She will be sadly missed by her children, Anne Richter, Robert Richter, John Peter Selda Jr., Melissa (Selda) Beisel, 7 Grandchildren, and 8 Great-grandchildren. Marian was predeceased by her husband John, her children Thomas Richter, Jennifer (Selda) Vilaplana and her brothers Frank and Danny Kurtzke. Visitation will be held Sunday July 31, 2-5 & 7-9 pm at McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, 385 Main St., Farmingdale NY. Religious service Monday August 1st 10 am at the funeral home. Internment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery. The family would greatly appreciate in lieu of flowers, donations in Marian's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.ALZ.ORG
