Obituary for Lawrence F "Larry" Lorenzen

Lorenzen, Lawrence F. (Larry), 90 years old, born on March 4, 1931, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Larry resided in Pinellas Park, Florida where he lived with his loving wife, Linda. Cherished brother of Cecilia (Geri) Gordon and the late Alfred. Larry was originally from Farmingdale where he and his first wife (the late Dorothy) raised their four children; Scott, Chris, Karen Curreri, and the late Laurie Ahern. He was also loved and admired by his children’s spouses and loved ones, Jeremiah Ahern, Debbie (Herlihy) Lorenzen, Joseph Curreri, and Christen Roper. He is survived by 4 of his 5 grandchildren and their spouses Beth (Ahern) and Luke Mitchell, Ryan and Chrissy Ahern, Jesse and Kate Curreri, Eric Curreri, and the late Cara. Larry also had 7 great grandchildren. Larry was one of the founders of Bardot Electric Co. in Farmingdale where he worked for 35 years, eventually retiring and handed the business down to his sons. Larry is a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. He was a past commander of the VFW Post 516 in Farmingdale. He was loved and cherished by his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Family will receive friends Thursday 7-9:30pm at the McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home, Inc. 385 Main St. Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Friday 9:45am @ St. Kilian RC Church. Interment Long Island National Cemetery
