Obituary for Joseph J. Celli

Our sweet Daddy is now at peace after suffering with a long illness. Dad loved being a NYC firefighter for 35 years in the South Bronx. He always said, “It’s the best job in the world!” Besides putting out fires, he enjoyed cooking for his firehouse friends. Dad loved old cars & old movies especially ones with Humphrey Bogart & Marilyn Monroe. He was a life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed fishing at Captree & going on sailing trips with his firehouse buddies. Rough and tough bricklayer in NYC. Proud US Army medic. He enjoyed telling us stories about our family & the past. He knew so much about history; he would have been a great history teacher. He loved going to the 56th Fighter group restaurant, he was very interested in planes, he always wanted to take flying lessons but never had the chance. Fly high Dad! We love you & miss you!
