Obituary for John Fetter
John was born on September, 10, 1955 in Queens, NY, to Robert and Mary Fetter, the second oldest of six boys. He lived in Farmingdale for most of his life where he met and married his high school sweetheart Joanne in 1976. Together they raised their children Adam, Nicole, and John. He worked in management at Verizon for 30 years until he retired.

As a young boy/man he loved playing baseball, bowling, fishing, and hunting. He was a huge muscle car lover and had many cars. The car he loved the most was his blue 1966 Pontiac GTO. He was a diehard Yankee fan. He loved John Wayne, Tarzan, Muhammad Ali, and Rocky Movies. Later in life he became a passionate baker and cook. He worked hard to perfect every recipe and made the best Cheesecake ever!

He had a deep love for his family and always put everyone else’s needs before his. He was knowledgeable in so many areas and could always solve a problem. He had the biggest heart and anyone that knew him loved him. His biggest gifts in life were his children and his three beautiful granddaughters; Joanna, Mia, and Peyton.

He is survived by his brothers and their wives; Robert and Robin Fetter, Joseph and Colleen Fetter, Charlie and Debbie Fetter, Paul and Jackie Fetter, and James and Christine Fetter. He is also survived by brother in-law, Salvatore and his wife Roseann; brother in-law Stanley, and sister in-law Lorraine. He was the proud Uncle to fourteen nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 6th from 5-9pm at the McCourt & Trudden
Funeral Home, Inc., 385 Main Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 7th 9:45am at St. Kilian RC Church. He will be laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery.
