Joan Glascott, FARMINGDALE – Joan Glascott of Hillside Road, Farmingdale NY., a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away surrounded by family on March 3, 2019. Joan was born in Portland, ME, the daughter of Catherine and William Hodgkins. She graduated from South Portland High School in 1956. Joan graduated from Gorham State Teachers College In 1960 and the University of Maine in 1964. Joan married Edgar Glascott in 1969. She began her teaching career in the Farmingdale School district and retired 30 years later as a physical education teacher. Joan coached many sports during her career in Farmingdale and touched many lives. She enjoyed the company of her friends, being the life of the party and making sure everyone was always taken care of. However, her greatest joy was in spending time with her children and grandchildren, whether in Farmingdale or up in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Loving sister to William (Mary Lou) Hodgkins, Nancy (John) Caprio, and John (Judy) Hodgkins. She will be missed and loved by her husband of 50 years, Edgar Glascott Sr; her children, Edgar (Danielle) Glascott of Poughkeepsie, NY, William (Krista) Glascott of Bayshore, NY and Joseph (Daniele) Glascott of Bethpage, NY. She will also be missed by her six grandchildren; Keean, Ella, Kevin, Luke, Colin, Avery, numerous nieces, nephews; cousins; a large extended family and many friends. Visiting hours will be held from 2:00p.m. - 5:00p.m. and 7:00p.m.-9:00p.m. March 7, 2019, at McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home, 385 Main St, Farmingdale, NY 11735. 516-249-1303 A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. on March 8, 2019, at St. Kilian’s Church, 485 Conklin St, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
