Obituary for Gale Papps
Gale Papps, 77 years old, of Wantagh, NY, peacefully passed away on March 4, 2023, after a short battle with dementia and cancer. Gale passed without any pain, with Bill, her husband, and Joan Trudden, her best friend, holding her hand.
Gale was born on July 28, 1945, to Tosh Griner and Donald Griner in Manhattan. After Gale graduated as valedictorian from Bronx High School of Science in 1964. Gale later went on to major in mathematics at CCNY, graduating third in her class in 1968.
After graduating with a degree in mathematics, Gale continued her education seeking a masters in business management.
She started her first job out of school at AT&T as a programmer. Gale quickly advanced at AT&T in corporate management and then as a District manager.
In 1989, Gale met her future husband Bill, at a self-improvement workshop and they fell in love, and for the next 34 years they were happily married. Gale learned at the workshop to never judge and to be open to all experiences in life.
After twenty years working at AT&T, Gale retired and spent her time caring for her husband Bill and working in the silver jewelry business. Gale's favorite hobbies were crossword word puzzles and reading philosophical books.
Gale was predeceased by her parents Tosh and Donald Griner. Gale is survived by her husband Bill, niece Tina, and her brother Tom Griner, and her cousins James Taono, Edith Terwey, Terry Hooper, Judy Carroll and Dr. Ted Sugimoto.
Services will be held at McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, 385 Main St Farmingdale, NY, on March 9, 2023.
